DESCRIPTION
This tweed jacket has no labels whatsoever, so it is impossible to say anything conclusive about its origin. Most likely, however, it is of Swedish origin and was made sometime during the 1940s or 1950s. It is made from a herringbone tweed cloth with a strong rust-coloured tone.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. At the back, the jacket is straight-cut and has a single vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has two internal pockets, one on each side.
As regards the condition, there are a number of flaws worth being aware of if you are considering purchasing the jacket. There is some wear to the buttonholes. One of the buttons also differs slightly in colour from the other two. There is wear around the cuffs, and the cloth has become felted in the underarm areas. This is not visible when the jacket is worn, unless one makes some particularly acrobatic movements! The lining has been patched in a couple of places.
The jacket is nevertheless perfectly wearable, although its condition is not perfect, as reflected in the price. It remains a fine jacket overall, with an attractive colour, particularly suited to autumn. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.
