DESCRIPTION
This odd jacket is of British origin and comes from the well-known ready-to-wear brand Dunn & Co.. It was most likely made in the late 1960s, or possibly slightly later. The cloth is by Harris Tweed – a robust checked tweed incorporating shades of light brown, dark brown, green, light blue, and white.
It is single-breasted with three buttons. The buttons are made of leather, which is typical of the period. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps, as well as a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. At the back, it is straight with double vents. Internally, it is fully lined and has one inner pocket on each side.
Externally, the condition is excellent. The lining does, however, show discolouration. Something has leaked into the left pocket, causing staining to the lining. The sleeve lining is also somewhat discoloured. None of this is visible when the jacket is worn. Please study the photographs carefully to form your own assessment of the condition.
