DESCRIPTION
This sports jacket is of Swedish origin and was produced by Pingvin, most likely sometime during the 1960s. Pingvin was a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear brand during the 1950s and 1960s. It was originally sold at Lolles, a menswear shop in the southern Swedish town of Varberg, which is in fact still in business today. The jacket is made from a tasteful and slightly unusual fabric which, at first glance, is somewhat reminiscent of a herringbone pattern. The cloth features a subtle orange overcheck that is visible at a moderate distance.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket, also with flaps. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The cuffs are finished with a single button, and the back is straight with twin vents. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side at chest height — nothing out of the ordinary.
In terms of condition, the exterior is in very good shape apart from a minor flaw high up on the left sleeve. The lining, however, is not in perfect condition. The jacket is fully wearable as it is, but if one desires a perfect interior, the lining would need to be replaced. There are no actual tears or major damage to the lining; rather, the issues consist of discolouration, primarily in the underarm area and at the sleeve ends. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
