DESCRIPTION
This jacket has no label, so its origins cannot be confirmed with absolute certainty, but we are confident that it is of Swedish origin and was made sometime during the 1910s or 1920s. It is crafted from a heavy wool fabric which, at first glance, appears black – but upon closer inspection reveals subtle tones of brown and green and also a purple undertone.
The jacket is single-breasted with a three-button front. It features horizontal flap pockets and a slightly slanted breast pocket – a detail very typical of the period. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and unvented. The interior is fully lined and has one large inner pocket on the right side.
The overall condition is very good considering its age – it has almost certainly passed the 100-year mark. There is some wear to the collar and minor discolouration to the lining, but nothing that detracts from the overall impression when worn. Please study the photos carefully and make your own assessment of the condition.
