SWEDISH 1890S BLACK SHAWL LAPEL SINGLE BREASTED WAISTCOAT. SIZE CA EU 58

DESCRIPTION

This waistcoat dates back to the late 1800s and is most likely of Swedish origin. There are no labels so we cannot tell the maker but it was most likely made bespoke.  It has a four button closure with covered buttons, shawl collar lapel and two front pockets. The waistcoat is fully lined. It has been taken out at some point, it has been professionally done, the only thing revealing this is the different lining on the inside. It is in good overall condition considering its age, but it has a small damage to the cloth on the lower right front side. Please have a look at the images and evaluate the condition.    

SIZE

This is a large sized waistcoat, the size would best be described as a modern size EU 58 (US/UK 48). But please bear in mind that this waistcoat was made to be worn with high waisted trousers. The total length is not the same as a modern size EU 58 (US/UK 48) would be. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
