DESCRIPTION

These over 100-year-old boots have no labels or markings, so it is not possible to say who produced them. However, they were most likely made in Sweden sometime in the early 1900s. They have a characteristic last shape for the time, high heel and narrow shaft. Inside, they are lined with herringbone-patterned cotton fabric.

The condition of the boots is very good considering their age. They have been worn very little. The leather is soft and will last a long time if properly cared for. The boots are sold with the original shoe trees (see picture). The shoelaces are slightly different in colour, but they are old, most likely original, so we have left them as they are.

SIZE

These boots are a bit tricky to size. If we only consider the inner measurement, they correspond to a modern EU 47 (US 14/UK 13.5). However, the last shape of the boots means that the actual fit is slightly smaller. We believe they would be best suited for a maximum size of EU 45 (US 12/UK 11.5) and a narrow foot.

Using good shoe trees is an important part of caring for your quality footwear. The shoe trees serve several functions that together help extend the life of your shoes. The cedar wood effectively absorbs moisture from the shoes, while the design of the shoe trees ensures that the shoes maintain their shape. The pleasantly scented wood also helps to minimise bad odours. We offer a split-toe model that expands once inserted to ensure that the upper leather is stretched sufficiently.
