DESCRIPTION
This is an unusual coat, and it’s not often that we have the privilege of passing on a coat like this to a new owner. It is approximately 100 years old, from the 1920s, or possibly even slightly earlier. It features a luxurious teddy collar and is fur-lined in the body with dark fur. The manufacturer is unknown, as there are no readable labels. During this period, coats were often marked with the maker’s name on a loop at the neck. This coat originally had such a loop, but unfortunately, it has either been removed or broken. A fragment of text can be discerned on the small remaining piece, but there is not enough to make it legible.
The coat has several details that are characteristic of the period, including the narrow shoulders and the back belt with buttons, as well as relatively long sleeves and a straight waistline. The light colour of the collar combined with the vivid blue gives an eye-catching overall impression! It is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, all of which are used. The front pockets are horizontal with flaps. At the back, it features the previously mentioned back belt with buttons and no vent. On the inside, it has no pockets.
The condition is very good considering its age. The fabric has some minor wear and tear here and there, but nothing that affects the overall impression. The condition of the fur lining is also good. Please refer to the photos and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
This coat will fit best on someone who wears approximately EU size 48 (US/UK 38) and has a relatively slim build. Someone who wears EU size 50 (US/UK 40) could also wear the coat, provided they don't have any thick layers underneath.
