DESCRIPTION
These unusual trousers have no labels, so it’s impossible to say who made them. However, we can say with confidence that they date from the 1910s or 1920s and are most likely of Swedish origin – the buckle features Swedish text. They are made from a white cotton twill fabric.
The cut is very typical of the period, with a flat front, vertical side pockets, and buttons for braces placed on the outside of the waistband. They have a button fly, a fishtail back, and a buckle for waist adjustment.
The overall condition is good considering the age and type of garment – but not perfect. There are a few areas of damage, particularly near the hems. Please refer to the photos to form your own assessment of the condition.
SIZE
Based on the waist measurement, they fall between a modern EU 48 (UK/US 38) and EU 50 (UK/US 40). The leg length matches this size range, but it's worth noting that there is no extra fabric to let the trousers down further. In the waist, there is a little room to let them out by a few centimetres if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
