DESCRIPTION
This pair of plus fours is of Swedish origin, produced by Ahremarks, most likely sometime during the 1940s or possibly a bit earlier. They are deadstock, meaning they are completely unused and still have the original label attached. They are made from a grey-blue houndstooth fabric that also contains brown, but from a distance, they give a grey-blue impression. The trousers feature a front pleat and diagonal front pockets. They have a button fly and a so-called belt tunnel, which is a channel along the waistband designed for a belt. This makes the belt partially hidden. This detail was common on Swedish trousers, particularly during the 1940s. On the back, there is a pocket on the right side, which fastens with a button. The leg cuffs have elastic to keep them in place, meaning they stay above the widest point of the calf. For children's and youth versions of this trouser style, elastic was often used, while in larger adult sizes, buckles were more common. This pair is a smaller size, and therefore has elastic. They are lined with cotton fabric down to the knees.
The condition is absolutely perfect – as mentioned, they are unused and there are no other damages to note. Please study the pictures and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
As previously mentioned, they are a small size, which corresponds to a modern EU 42 (US/UK 32). They were originally sold as a youth garment, which is clearly indicated if you study the label. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
