SWEDISH 1940S/1950S DARK GREY SUIT BY KABOM. SIZE CA EU 52-54 (US/UK 42-44)

DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and bears the Kabom label, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear brand which was at its peak during the 1940s. This particular suit may have been made slightly later, most likely sometime in the early 1950s. It is made from a dark grey British cloth by John Taylor of Huddersfield.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel, and three buttons at each cuff. The back is straight and closed, with no vents. It is fully lined and has three internal pockets – one larger pocket on each side, plus an additional, slightly smaller pocket on the left.

The trousers have double pleats and slightly slanted front pockets. They have a button fly, buttons for braces on the inside of the waistband and belt loops. The hems are turned up. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures.

The overall condition is good, with no known damage to the cloth. There is, however, some discolouration, mainly to the linings of both the jacket and trousers. Please study the photographs and form your own impression of the condition.

Based on the jacket's chest measurement, the suit corresponds to approximately an EU 52–54 (US/UK 42–44). The waist measurement of the trousers also indicates roughly this size, if anything slightly larger. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
