SWEDISH 1960S GREY WINDOWPANE WORSTED WOOL SUIT BY RANG. SIZE CA EU 50-52 LONG (US/UK 40-42 LONG)

DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and was made by Rang, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear manufacturer. It was originally sold at Sterns, a menswear shop in Norrköping. The cloth is grey with a subtle Glen check pattern, overlaid with a relatively prominent windowpane check.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel, and the cuffs have three buttons. At the back, the jacket is straight-cut and has double vents. Internally, it is fully lined and has three internal pockets: one large pocket on each side, plus a smaller one on the left-hand side.

The trousers have a single pleat, slightly slanted front pockets and a zip fly. They also have belt loops. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button fastenings.

The overall condition is good, although there are a few minor points worth mentioning. There is some wear to the middle buttonhole on the jacket. There is also a small discolouration near one of the buttonholes, although this is barely visible and may well disappear completely with further cleaning. Otherwise, the suit is in excellent condition. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.

SIZE

The suit falls between a modern EU 50 LONG (US/UK 40 LONG) and EU 52 LONG (US/UK 42 LONG). The sleeve length and jacket length suggest that the wearer should probably be at least 190 cm (6 ft 3 in) tall for the suit to fit properly. It is also worth noting that there is quite a lot of material available to let out in the trousers, both at the waist and in the leg length.
