DESCRIPTION
This suit has no labels at all, but it is still possible to draw certain conclusions from examining it. It is, by all appearances, of Swedish origin and was most likely made sometime during the 1940s, or possibly a few years later. It is tailor-made. It is made from a dark grey cloth with a light grey chalk-stripe pattern.
The jacket is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, of which two are in use. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a buttonhole in each lapel. The back is straight and closed, with no vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has one inner pocket on the right-hand side. The lining is entirely hand-stitched.
The trousers feature a single pleat and vertical front pockets. They have a button fly, and on the inside of the waistband there are buttons for braces. They also feature so-called tunnel loops, meaning that the belt runs partially hidden within a channel along the waistband, should a belt be worn. The waistband construction is somewhat unusual in terms of the direction of the cloth; this is not noticeable when the suit is worn and is more something one observes only upon close inspection.
As for the condition, there are a number of points to note. The most prominent defect is a repair to one of the lapels, and there is also some discolouration to the lining, both in the jacket and the trousers. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK 38). There is some allowance to let out the trousers if required, both at the waist and in the leg length. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
