DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin and was most likely produced in the late 1950s. The brand is Rappson, and it was originally sold at a shop called Thiels, located in Floby – a small town near Gothenburg. The suit is tailored in a dark grey, lightly mottled worsted wool fabric.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal flap pockets and a breast pocket, with a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – it has no vent. The interior is fully lined and includes three inner pockets: one large on each side and an additional smaller one on the left.
The trousers have a single pleat and slightly slanted front pockets. They feature belt loops and a zip fly. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures.
The overall condition is good, but on closer inspection, some minor imperfections are visible. There is a small flaw in the fabric on the back of the jacket. The middle buttonhole shows some wear, and there is discolouration in the lining around the armholes. There is also a repair in the lining. Please refer to the photos to form your own opinion of the condition.
SIZE
In modern sizing, the jacket corresponds to an EU 50 (UK/US 40). The trousers are slightly smaller based on the waist measurement, but there is enough fabric in the seams to let them out so they match the jacket size. Please scroll down for exact measurements and available seam allowances.
