DESCRIPTION
This classically cut two-piece suit is of American origin and is made by Botany 500. It is somewhat unusual in that it is American and also dated — 13th October 1958. The fabric is grey with a subtle burgundy stripe.
The jacket is single-breasted with three buttons. It features horizontal flap front pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a single vent. Internally, it is half-lined in the traditional American style and has two interior pockets — one on each side.
The trousers are high-waisted with double front pleats and a zip fly. They have vertical front pockets and belt loops. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, with a button closure on the left.
The overall condition is good, though not perfect. There are some small repairs to the fabric worth noting — these are minor and do not affect the overall impression, only visible upon close inspection. Please study the photos carefully to make your own assessment of the condition.
SIZE
The suit is marked “42 Long” in the inner pocket, which corresponds well with actual measurements. In modern terms, this equates to a EU 52 Long (UK/US 42L). Please scroll down for detailed measurements and seam allowances.
