DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, made sometime during the 1950s under the brand Lejonmärket, one of the labels produced by Schlasbergs. It was originally sold at a menswear shop called Joh. Kristiansson, located in Borrby – right at the southern tip of Sweden. The suit is deadstock, meaning it has never been worn. The original label is still attached to the left cuff.
It is made from a typically 1950s grey fabric with a subtle woven structure that includes tones of brown and light blue. From a distance, however, the suit appears solid grey to the eye.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front flap pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – there is no vent. The interior is fully lined with two inner pockets, one on each side.
The trousers feature double pleats, slanted front pockets, belt loops, and a zip fly.
The condition is flawless – the suit has never been worn. Please refer to the photos to form your own impression of its condition.
SIZE
The label states size "50" (UK/US 40), but this does not match the actual measurements. In reality, it corresponds more closely to a modern EU 48 (UK/US 38), based on both the jacket’s chest and the trousers’ waist. There is some extra fabric in the waistband and trouser length that allows for letting out if needed. Please scroll down for full measurements.
