DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, tailored sometime in the late 1940s or possibly the early 1950s. The brand is Masterhand. What really sets this suit apart is the striking fabric – a strong light blue shade. Up close, you’ll notice a subtle mottled texture in the weave.
The jacket is single-breasted with two buttons. It features horizontal welted front pockets and a breast pocket. The lapels are relatively wide, with a buttonhole on the left side. The back is straight with a single vent. It’s fully lined inside, with three inner pockets – one large pocket on each side and an additional smaller one on the left.
The trousers have double pleats, slanted front pockets, and belt loops. They fasten with buttons and have interior buttons for braces. At the back, there are two pockets – one on each side, both with flaps and button closures.
Overall, the suit gives a good impression, but a closer look reveals a few imperfections. There are a couple of discreet repairs on the trousers, and a faint mark on the jacket. The lining shows some discolouration, especially in the underarm area. There’s also minor wear around the buttonholes and at the bottom hems of the trousers. Despite these flaws, the general condition is quite good. The colour is fairly unique – it’s not easy to find a Swedish suit from this era in such a striking shade, so a bit of leniency on the details might be in order. Please refer to the photos to form your own view of the condition.
