DESCRIPTION
This fine two-piece suit is of Swedish origin, tailored in Sweden sometime during the 1940s. The brand is Elson, a label produced by Erikson & Larsson AB, based in Borås in southern Sweden. Remarkably, the suit has never been worn – both the jacket and trousers still have their original tags attached.
Looking closely at the fabric, you’ll see a pattern of rust brown and dark brown on a light base. From a distance, though, the overall impression is of a light brown suit with a fairly subtle wide-stripe pattern – a fabric style very typical of the era.
The jacket is single-breasted with three buttons. It features horizontal welt pockets and a breast pocket, with a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is cut straight with no vent. Inside, it’s fully lined and has three inner pockets – one large pocket on each side and a smaller one on the left.
The trousers have double pleats, slanted front pockets, and belt loops. The fly is buttoned, and there are buttons on the inside of the waistband for braces. The hems are cuffed, and there are two back pockets – one on each side, both with flaps and button closures.
As mentioned, the suit has never been worn, so there is no wear or damage from use. However, during storage it somehow sustained a small tear on the back of the left thigh. This has been professionally repaired, and while it’s still slightly visible if you know where to look, it doesn’t significantly affect the overall appearance. You’d have to be looking for it to notice. Apart from this, the condition is flawless. Please refer to the photos to make your own assessment.

The suit corresponds to a modern EU 46 (UK/US 36). The trousers run slightly smaller in the waist, but there’s extra fabric to let them out to match the jacket size if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
