DESCRIPTION
This classic two-piece suit is of Swedish origin, tailored sometime during the 1930s. The brand is Stadion, whose logo features Stockholm’s Olympic Stadium – the main venue for the 1912 Summer Olympics. The suit is made from black wool with a subtle herringbone pattern.
The jacket is single-breasted with a three-button front. It features horizontal flap pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is clean, with no vent. The interior is fully lined and has two inner pockets – one on each side.
The trousers are generously cut, typical of the period, and feature double pleats. They have slightly slanted front pockets and a belt tunnel – meaning the belt runs partially hidden within a channel along the waistband. They have a button fly and buttons for braces sewn into the waistband. The legs are finished with turn-ups. At the back, there are two pockets, both with button closures.
The condition of the suit is good overall, with the exception of a number of small holes on the back of the trousers. These can certainly be repaired, but we have chosen to leave them as they are, and the price has been adjusted accordingly. Please review the photos carefully and make your own assessment of the suit’s condition.
SIZE
The suit corresponds to a modern EU 46 (UK/US 36). There is ample seam allowance in the trousers, should you need to let them out. Please scroll down for exact measurements and details on seam allowances.
