DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin. It was produced sometime in the late 1940s or early 1950s by Kabom. It was sold at the department store PUB in Stockholm, which at the time offered both bespoke tailoring and ready-to-wear garments. The suit is made from a dark blue wool fabric of British origin, sourced from Coromil.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal welted front pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed — it has no vent. The interior is fully lined and includes three inner pockets: one large pocket on each side and a smaller one on the left.
The trousers have double pleats, a button fly, and interior buttons for braces. They feature slightly slanted front pockets and belt loops. At the back, there are two pockets, both with button closures. The trouser legs are finished with turn-ups.
The overall condition of the suit is very good. The only notable issue is some light discolouration in the trouser pocket linings. However, this is very common in suits of this age and does not affect the overall impression when the suit is worn. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 52 (UK/US 42). There is fabric available to let out the trousers, both in length and at the waist, if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
