DESCRIPTION
This suit bears no label apart from the classic Harris Tweed tag, but we can confidently say it is of British origin and was tailored sometime during the 1960s. It is made from a heavyweight tweed in a blend of grey, yellow, and green tones—though from a distance, it appears primarily grey-patterned. The pattern itself is somewhat unusual: reminiscent of houndstooth, though not quite the same. The cut is typical of the era, with relatively narrow lapels, minimal shoulder padding, and a slim trouser silhouette.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front flap pockets and a breast pocket. The back is straight and has double vents. It is fully lined and includes a single interior pocket on the right-hand side.
The waistcoat is single-breasted with six buttons and four front pockets—two at the chest and two lower ones. Notably, it lacks a back strap, which may indicate that the suit was custom-tailored, though this is not definitive.
The trousers feature double pleats, vertical front pockets, and a button fly. On either side of the waistband are side adjusters for easy waist adjustment. At the back, there is a single right-hand pocket with flap and button closure. The hems are finished with turn-ups.
The condition is near-perfect. The only minor flaw is some light discolouration to the lining, particularly under the arms. However, this is only noticeable upon close inspection and does not affect the overall appearance when the suit is worn. Please refer to the photographs to form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
Based on chest measurements, this suit falls between a modern EU 44 (UK/US 34) and EU 46 (UK/US 36). In terms of length, it aligns more closely with the larger of the two sizes, so it is likely to fit a slender individual who typically wears EU 46 (UK/US 36) quite well.
