DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, produced by Kabom sometime during the 1950s and originally sold at a shop called Danielsons in Umeå, northern Sweden. It is made from a light grey fabric with a somewhat unusual texture when viewed up close.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and unvented. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has three inner pockets—one large on each side and a smaller one on the left.
The trousers are typical of the period, with a high waist, double pleats, and buttons for braces on the inside of the waistband. They have slightly slanted front pockets, belt loops, and a zip fly. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures.
The overall condition of the suit is good, but there is a small flaw in the fabric on the left elbow. This is not particularly noticeable and does not affect the overall impression when the suit is worn, but it can be seen if you know where to look. There is also some discolouration to the lining, especially in the trousers, though of course this is not visible when the suit is worn. Please study the images carefully to form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, it corresponds to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). There is ample seam allowance in the trousers should you need to let them out, both in the waist and in length. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
