DESCRIPTION
This lightweight raglan coat is of British origin, made by Quelrayn, a manufacturer known for their specialist rainwear. It was produced sometime during the 1940s, or possibly the early 1950s. The colour could best be described as a brownish grey – a typical tone for garments of this type and era.
The coat is single-breasted with a total of six buttons. In addition to the usual four front buttons, it features one at the collar and an extra one at the very bottom – a rather uncommon detail designed to keep the coat closed during windy, rainy weather. The back is straight with a centre vent. Inside, the coat is fully lined and includes an interior pocket on the left side.
The overall condition is good, though there is a small mark in the fabric on the left shoulder. Please refer to the photos to form your own impression of its condition.
SIZE
Roughly equivalent to a modern EU 50 (UK/US 40), though as with all coats of this type, the fit depends heavily on what is worn underneath. It could likely also suit someone who typically wears an EU 52 (UK/US 42), provided they don’t layer with bulkier garments. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
