This trench coat is of Swedish origin, made by Melka sometime during the 1940s or possibly the early 1950s. Melka was a Swedish manufacturer that specialised in trench coats and other lighter overcoats. This particular coat was sold in the store "Herr-City" in Degerfors, central Sweden. The coat is made from a beige cotton fabric, typical for this type of overcoat. It is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are used. It has vertical front pockets and buttonholes on the lapels, allowing it to be fastened higher at the neck. The waist is belted. Inside, it is fully lined. The upper part of the lining is detachable with buttons.
The condition is generally good in terms of damage. There are some stains towards the bottom of the coat, which are not noticeable when worn but can be seen upon closer inspection. It is not ruled out that these stains could be removed with more in-depth treatment, though no guarantees can be made regarding this. There are also a few small holes in the lining, but these do not affect the overall impression. Please look at the pictures and form your own opinion on the condition.
