DESCRIPTION
This fine overcoat is of Swedish origin and was produced sometime during the 1940s or possibly the early 1950s. It is by Tonex, a ready-to-wear label from Ulricehamn in southern Sweden. It is made from a substantial herringbone wool cloth in a beautiful shade of brown.
The overcoat is double-breasted and fastens with three buttons. The buttons are leather-covered. It has vertical front pockets and a buttonhole in each lapel. The cuffs feature decorative tabs with matching leather-covered buttons. At the back, it has a half-belt and a single vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has one internal pocket on each side.
The condition is exceptional, virtually deadstock, with no signs of use. However, as the labels are missing, the term deadstock cannot strictly be applied, although the condition is consistent with it. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
This overcoat is of a very small size, and it is probably most accurate to describe it as a youth size. It corresponds approximately to a modern EU 40–42 (US/UK 30–32). We estimate that the wearer should be no taller than 165 cm (5 ft 5 in) and, naturally, have a slim build. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
