DESCRIPTION
This fine tweed overcoat is of Swedish origin and bears the label Tiger of Sweden, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear brand. It was produced sometime during the 1950s, or possibly a few years earlier. The coat is tailored in a grey herringbone wool fabric with a subtle orange overcheck.
The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are functional. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps. The cuffs have decorative turn-ups with buttons. At the back, there is a half-belt and a single vent. Internally, the coat is fully lined — half-lined in a green wool fabric. It has two inside pockets, one on each side, both with button fastenings.
The overall condition is very good. The only flaw worth mentioning is minor discolouration to the lining; however, this does not detract from the overall impression. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
In terms of fit, the coat corresponds to a modern EU 46 (UK/US 36). As is often the case with this type of garment, the fit is highly dependent on what is worn underneath. Please note that our size recommendation is based on the coat being worn over a jacket. If worn over lighter garments, it would likely suit someone slightly larger than an EU 46 (UK/US 36).
