DESCRIPTION
This overcoat is of Swedish origin. It was made sometime during the 1950s and was sold new at a shop called Mattison & Fråhn, located in Borås in southern Sweden. The cloth, however, is British — from Strachan & Co, a mill label frequently seen in Swedish overcoats from this period. The fabric is a soft, dark grey herringbone wool, slightly lighter in weight than is usually found in coats from this era.
The coat is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons, featuring a concealed (fly-front) fastening. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a buttonhole in the left lapel. The back is straight with a single vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has one inner pocket on each side.
The condition of the coat is excellent, with virtually nothing to remark upon. The lining is also in perfect condition, suggesting that the coat has seen very little wear, if any at all. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK38). Please note that our sizing is calculated on the assumption that the coat is worn over a jacket.
