DESCRIPTION
This jacket is of British origin, produced by Hepworths sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is made from a green and brown heavy houndstooth wool fabric from Independent Harris Tweed Producers (IHTP). IHTP was an upstart that challenged the Harris Tweed Authority (HTA) for a few years before they were sued and lost in court, eventually disappearing from the market. However, their quality was on par with the original Harris Tweed.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps, as well as an additional pocket just above the right side, also with a flap. The back is straight with a single vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has an inner pocket on the right side. Overall, the condition is very good, with the only note being that a few stitches in the sleeve lining appear to have been repaired at some point. Please refer to the images and form your own opinion on the condition.
