DESCRIPTION
This peacoat has no labels, but we can say with certainty that it is of Swedish origin, most likely made sometime in the late 1920s. It features several details typical of the 1920s, such as the slanted breast pocket, the low-placed shoulder seam, and the placement of the buttons. At the same time, it has fairly wide lapels, as lapels began to widen towards the end of the 1920s. The jacket is made from a very heavy black wool fabric. It is double-breasted and fastens with two rows of buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps, a slanted breast pocket, and buttonholes on both lapels. The back is closed, and it lacks a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has an inner pocket on the left side.
The condition is outstanding considering its age, with no visible signs of wear. It has likely been minimally used, and even the buttonholes are in perfect condition. Please take a look at the photos and form your own opinion about its condition.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 46-48 long (US/UK 36L-38L). As often is the case, the fit will depend on what you wear underneath. Wearing something thin underneath, someone who wears size EU 48 (US/UK 38) could easily wear this jacket. What should be noted is that it is very long, and we believe it would fit best on someone who is over 190 cm tall (6'2"). Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
