DESCRIPTION
This suit is of British origin, tailor-made in 1969 on Savile Row by Hicks & Sons. It is crafted from a dark navy wool fabric with a pin stripe pattern.
The jacket is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are functional. It features horizontal front pockets with welts and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on each lapel. The two lowermost buttons on the cuffs are functional – a hallmark of bespoke tailoring. The back is straight with double vents. Internally, it is fully lined and has two inside pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have double forward pleats, vertical front pockets, and side adjusters for waist adjustment. Inside the waistband are buttons for braces. They have a zip fly and turn-ups at the hem. There is a single back pocket on the right side with a button fastening.
As for condition, the overall impression is good, but upon closer inspection, some damage in the form of small holes in the fabric can be found. These could be repaired if desired, but the suit is sold as-is, and the pricing reflects the imperfections. There is also some discolouration in the lining, especially in the trouser pockets; however, this is not noticeable when the suit is worn. This is a finely crafted suit that deserves to live on despite the aforementioned flaws. Please study the photos carefully and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 48 (UK/US 38). There is extra fabric to let out the trousers at both the waist and the length if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
