DESCRIPTION
This suit has no labels, but we can confidently say that it is of Swedish origin and was made sometime during the 1940s. It is crafted from a very heavy blue wool twill fabric. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps, and there is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and lacks a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has three inner pockets, one large pocket on each side, plus a smaller pocket on the left side.
The trousers have two pleats, slanted front pockets, and a button fly. The waistband features a "belt tunnel," which means the belt lies partially concealed in a channel running along the waistband. This was a common feature on Swedish trousers during the 1940s. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for braces. At the back, there are two rear pockets, both with button closures. The trousers have turn-ups.
The overall condition is good, with no damage to the fabric. However, there are some slight discolorations in the lining, especially in the trousers. Please review the photos and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
In size, the suit corresponds to a modern EU 52 (US/UK 42). The waist measurement of the trousers is slightly larger, closer to EU 54 (US/UK 44), but of course, the trousers can easily be altered to fit an EU 52 (US/UK 42) at the waist. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
