DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin and was made during the second half of the 1960s. It is from SIR, a well-known Swedish manufacturer of ready-to-wear garments. The suit is made from a subtly checkered grey mélange wool fabric that reveals multiple colours when examined up close. To the eye, however, it appears as a solid grey.
The jacket is single-breasted with a three-button closure. It features covered buttons, a very period-typical detail. The jacket has horizontal front pockets with flaps as well as a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a single vent. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has four interior pockets: one large pocket on each side, plus two smaller pockets on the left side.
The trousers have rather distinctive front pockets, slightly angled and almost horizontal—a style often seen on riding breeches. They feature a zip fly, and the back is completely plain with no rear pockets.
The overall condition is good. The only points to note are some minor discoloration and light wear to the sleeve lining. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. Please study the photos carefully to form your own assessment of the condition.
SIZE
The suit corresponds approximately to a modern EU 50 SHORT (US/UK 40 SHORT). Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
