DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin and was produced sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is by the brand Pingvin and was originally sold at PUB – one of Stockholm’s most well-known department stores, which remained in operation well into the 2000s.
The suit is tailored in a dark grey fabric featuring a subtle brown houndstooth pattern. While the pattern isn’t overly bold, it’s still clearly visible even from a distance, giving the suit a distinct texture and appearance that sets it apart from a solid-colour fabric.
The jacket is single-breasted with three front buttons. It has horizontal flap pockets and a breast pocket, along with a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – it has no vent. The interior is fully lined and features two inner pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have a single pleat, belt loops, and slightly slanted front pockets. The fly is zippered, and there are buttons on the inner waistband for suspenders. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures. The condition is excellent, with no visible damage or obvious signs of wear. Please refer to the photos to form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
This suit corresponds to a modern EU size 50 (UK/US40). There is some extra fabric available in the trousers that allows for letting out both the waist and the length, if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
