DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and was tailored sometime during the 1950s by Essge. While the cut itself may not be particularly remarkable, the fabric is highly eye-catching and stands out among Swedish suits from this era. It features a bold check pattern in white, blue, and a greenish-grey tone.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with two buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with welts and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – it has no vent. Inside, it is fully lined and equipped with three inner pockets: one large on each side and a smaller one on the left.

The trousers feature double pleats, slightly slanted front pockets, and belt loops. The fly has a zipper, and on the inside of the waistband are buttons for braces. The leg openings are finished with turn-ups. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures.

As for the condition, the overall impression is good. However, a closer inspection reveals a few things worth noting: there are a couple of fabric repairs, some mild discoloration in the lining near the underarms, and light wear around the fly buttonhole. None of these issues are particularly noticeable when the suit is worn, but they should be taken into consideration by any potential buyer. SIZE

There is a label inside one of the inner pockets with the number “152” written by hand. This likely refers to the size: 152 = EU 52 LONG (US/UK 42 LONG). However, this does not fully align with the actual measurements of the garment. Based on those, we would classify this suit as a EU 50 LONG (US/UK 40 LONG). Both the chest width of the jacket and the waist of the trousers point to this slightly smaller size.
