DESCRIPTION
This classic suit is of Swedish origin. It was produced sometime in the late 1940s or possibly the early 1950s by Kabom and sold at a shop called Gottfrid Olsson in Uppsala, north of Stockholm. It is tailored from a dark grey solid-coloured fabric with a subtle twill texture. Although the suit is dark, it is clearly grey rather than black.
The jacket is single-breasted with a three-button closure. It features horizontal welt front pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and unvented. The interior is fully lined and has three inner pockets – one large pocket on each side, plus an extra one on the left.
The trousers have double pleats, slightly slanted front pockets, and a button fly. They are equipped with both belt loops and internal buttons for braces. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button closures.
The overall condition of the suit is good, with no damage visible upon casual inspection. However, upon closer examination, there are a few things worth noting: the lining shows slight discolouration around the armholes, and there is some minor wear on the middle buttonhole of the jacket. None of this affects the overall impression when the suit is worn. Please study the photos carefully to form your own assessment of the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, it corresponds to a modern EU 50 (UK/US 40). The trousers are relatively short in the leg – the inseam can be extended to a maximum of 77.5 centimetres if all extra fabric is let out. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
