SWEDISH 1940S/1950S BLUE THREE PIECE SINGLE BREASTED PINSTRIPE SUIT BY TIGER. SIZE CA EU 54-56 SHORT

DESCRIPTION

This is a suit that stands out from the crowd with its distinctly blue-toned pinstripe fabric. It is of Swedish origin, produced by Tiger, a well-known Swedish fashion company founded in the 1920s. This particular suit was made sometime in the late 1940s or possibly the early 1950s. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with piping and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back of the jacket is straight and closed, lacking vents. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has two large inner pockets, one on each side.

The waistcoat is single-breasted and fastens with six buttons. It has four front pockets, two at chest height and two lower down. The back features an adjustable buckle for sizing.

The trousers have a typical period fit with a high waist and double pleats. They have slanted front pockets and belt loops. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for braces. The trousers feature a button fly. At the back, there is a pocket on each side, both with flaps and button closures.

The condition of the suit is overall good, but far from perfect. There are some small fabric damages in certain areas; however, these do not affect the overall impression when the suit is worn. There are also some discolorations in the lining, especially in the trousers. The fabric around the knees is slightly faded on the front; this is not very noticeable and is barely visible in the pictures. However, if you know to look for it, it can be detected. As mentioned earlier, this suit is quite unique, and sometimes one has to overlook minor imperfections like the ones described if you’re looking for something special.
