DESCRIPTION
This fine overcoat is of Swedish origin. It was produced by Collijn’s, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear company that was at its peak around this time – the 1930s. The coat is made from a period-typical heavy black wool cloth.
It is double-breasted, featuring three rows of buttons, two of which are functional. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps, and each lapel features a buttonhole. The lapels are period-typical in their pointed shape. The cuffs are finished with two buttons. At the back, the coat has a straight cut with a deep vent. Internally, it is fully lined and fitted with two inner pockets, one on each side.
In terms of condition, the overall impression is good. However, upon close inspection, an old moth damage can be found low down on the front. It is clearly visible if one knows where to look, but the character of the cloth — and above all the coat’s colour — makes it difficult to notice when worn. There is also an older moth damage on the inside of the lapel; this area is not visible when the coat is worn. The damages are carefully documented in the photographs.
