DESCRIPTION
This coat is of Swedish origin and was produced by Dress sometime during the 1950s, a ready-to-wear manufacturer based in Gothenburg. According to the label inside, however, the fabric itself is British and guaranteed to be 100% wool. The cloth is grey in colour and, when examined closely, you can see that it actually has a subtle herringbone pattern.
The coat is single-breasted and fastens with four buttons. It has a concealed button front. It features horizontal front pockets and has a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and has a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has two inner pockets – one on each side.
As for the condition, it is excellent. There are no clear signs of wear or any notable damage. There is, however, one point worth mentioning: the sleeves have been lengthened at some stage. This is not visible from the outside (as it often is), and only becomes apparent when looking on the inside, where an odd lining fabric has been used to extend the last few centimetres towards the cuff. Please study the photographs and form your own view of the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, it sits between an EU 46 (UK/US 36) and an EU 48 (UK/US 38). As is always the case with overcoats, the fit depends greatly on what garments are worn underneath. Note that our size indication assumes that a jacket is worn beneath. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
