DESCRIPTION
This overcoat is of Swedish origin and is by Carl Axel. It was most likely produced around 1950–1952, though it could possibly be a few years earlier. Carl Axel was a well-known retail chain with several large menswear shops in Stockholm at the time, as suggested by the multiple addresses on the label. The coat is made from a heavy, dark grey, felt-like fabric.
The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are functional. There is also an additional top button at the neck, allowing it to be fastened all the way up. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps and has buttonholes on both lapels. At the back, it has a half-belt and a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and fitted with two inner pockets - one on each side.
The condition is virtually perfect; there are no defects worth noting. Please study the photos carefully and form your own opinion of its condition.
This coat is highly characteristic of Swedish ready-to-wear fashion from the years around 1950.
