DESCRIPTION
This coat is of Swedish origin and was likely produced sometime in the late 1940s or possibly the early 1950s. The brand is Clubman, a label produced by Widengrens, one of Sweden’s major manufacturers of ready-to-wear clothing at the time. The coat was originally sold at a shop called Standards Hörna, a menswear retail chain with several locations, including one in Stockholm where this particular coat was sold.
It is made from a heavy wool fabric in a distinctly navy blue tone – slightly more vivid than the more muted hues typically seen in coats from this era.
The coat is single-breasted with a concealed front fastening and closes with three buttons. It features vertical front pockets, and a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and features a centre vent. At the cuffs, there are decorative buttoned tabs. The interior is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.
The overall condition is very good. There is some minor wear in the fabric next to one of the buttons, but apart from that, the condition is close to excellent. Please study the photos carefully to make your own assessment.
