DESCRIPTION
This overcoat is of Swedish origin and was produced sometime during the 1950s or 1960s. It’s made by the brand Harrington and was sold at Ströms, a menswear store in Stockholm that, remarkably, still exists today - one of the very few from that era to remain in business. The fabric, however, is British. At first glance, it appears to have a typical salt-and-pepper pattern, but upon closer inspection, you’ll notice a herringbone structure, along with subtle brown and blue tones woven in.
The coat is single-breasted with four front buttons, plus an additional button at the collar to fasten it all the way up. It has vertical front pockets, almost fully camouflaged thanks to the nature of the fabric. The back is straight with a center vent. Inside, the coat is fully lined and features an interior pocket on each side.
The condition is overall very good. The only noteworthy flaw is some discoloration in the lining near the bottom on one side. However, this does not affect the overall impression of the coat and is not visible when worn. Please refer to the photos to form your own assessment of its condition.
SIZE
This coat runs small, and fits between a modern EU 44 (US/UK 34) and EU 46 (US/UK 36). Keep in mind that the fit depends heavily on what is worn underneath -the sizing here assumes that a suit jacket would be worn beneath the overcoat. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
