DESCRIPTION
This leather jacket has no labels whatsoever, yet several conclusions can be drawn from studying it closely. It is, in all likelihood, of Swedish origin, probably produced sometime during the 1930s in the Malung area - a small town in the province of Dalarna, in central Sweden. The colour is dark brown, and it appears to be made from goatskin nappa. The leather is exceptionally soft and fine in character. The cut is quite long - almost a hybrid between a jacket and a coat.
The jacket is double-breasted, fastening with three rows of buttons, plus an additional top button that allows it to be fastened all the way up to the collar. The buttons are covered in leather, and it has horizontal front pockets with flaps. Each lapel features a buttonhole. The back is straight and closed - it lacks a vent. Inside, the jacket is fully lined with a brown herringbone-patterned wool fabric. There is an inner pocket on the right-hand side, and at the sleeve ends of the lining there are elastic cuffs, designed to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the sleeves.
As for condition, it is exceptionally good. The leather is very soft and supple - practically as new. The only flaw worth mentioning is two small holes in the leather at the ends of the sleeves, most likely the remains of some kind of tag or label. This does not affect the overall impression and would only be noticed upon close inspection. Please study the photographs carefully to form your own opinion of the condition.

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.

Renovateur Cream is the “must-have” product for any leather goods aficionado. Containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil, it gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists as the best leather care product in the world!
Ensure all dirt and dust is removed from the shoes. Buff shoes with a brush. For a more in-depth clean, use the Saphir Beauté du Cuir Cleaning Lotion (ref. 0544).
Apply Crème 1925 sparingly using a cotton cloth or the Saphir Médaille d’Or Spreading Brush (ref. 2601).
Massage into the leather in a circular motion, enabling the cream to penetrate and nourish the leather. This will ensure a good layer of protection. Leave it to dry for one hour.
Polish leather with a bristle brush then finish with a wool cloth or glove.
Once a base coat of Crème 1925 has been applied, simply re-buff the shoe following wear to maintain the shine.
