DESCRIPTION
This jacket lacks labels, but we can still state with confidence that it is of Swedish origin, most likely produced sometime during the 1940s or possibly the 1950s. It is black in colour and made of goatskin — the standard material for leather jackets in Sweden at the time.
It is double-breasted and fastens with five rows of buttons if fully done up to the neck. It features horizontal front flap pockets and a fur collar, the origin of the fur unknown. The cuffs have adjustable straps to alter the sleeve width. At the back, a half belt (waist tab) accentuates the waistline. The jacket is fully lined in a grey wool fabric and has an interior pocket on the left-hand side.
Overall, the condition is remarkably good — the leather is virtually like new. The only sign of wear is some slight discolouration in the lining at the sleeve ends. Please refer to the photos and form your own judgement of the condition.
SIZE
This jacket stands out when it comes to size and fit. It is unusually slim-cut for this type of garment. It’s also long in its proportions — most noticeably in the sleeves, which are more generous than average. There is no size label, but based on the measurements it corresponds to a modern EU 46 LONG (UK/US 36L). We believe it would best suit someone around 190 cm tall (or possibly even taller) with a slim build.
