DESCRIPTION
This suede jacket is of Swedish origin, made sometime during the 1940s by the company S.P. Persson, based in Malung in Dalarna, a province in central Sweden. Malung was the centre of Sweden's leather and fur industry for much of the 20th century. The jacket has a richer, warmer brown tone than is typically seen in Swedish mens suede jackets from this period. Its cut is characteristic of the era, with broad shoulders, a high fastening, and a defined waist due to the belt. It is single-breasted with a total of five buttons. It features diagonal front pockets as well as vertical breast pockets. The waist is belted at the front and has elastic at the back. The back of the jacket is plain with no vent. Inside, it is fully lined. In the neck, alongside the manufacturer's label, there is also a label reading "Äkta getskinn," which means "Real goatskin."
This style of jacket was common in the 1940s, both in leather and suede, so it is not the model itself that makes this jacket stand out – it's the condition of the suede. It is very rare for us to sell suede jackets in this condition, as they almost always show clear signs of wear. The only point worth noting is a slight pattern on the back, likely from the jacket having leaned against something for an extended period, possibly a mesh. This is not a material defect and can be worked out over time by gently brushing the suede. Please take a look at the pictures to form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
The jacket is larger in size. It is marked "58" (US/UK48) on the lining. This corresponds quite well with its actual size, which is approximately EU 56-58 (US/UK46-48). As always with this type of jacket, the fit is highly dependent on what layers you wear underneath. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.
