ITALIAN 1940S/1950S STEEL GREY HOMBURG HAT BY BORSALINO. SIZE CA 56

DESCRIPTION

This hat is of Italian origin, made by the legendary hatmaker Borsalino. While it’s difficult to date precisely, it likely originates from the 1940s or 1950s. It was imported to Sweden and sold by Paul U. Bergström, one of Stockholm’s most iconic department stores, now closed for many years.

The colour could best be described as steel grey, and it is finished with a black grosgrain ribbon. The interior is lined with silk fabric featuring the Borsalino logo, and it has a brown leather sweatband.

The hat is in excellent condition, very close to mint. Judging by the pristine state of the leather band, it is likely that the hat has seen very little wear—if any at all.
