DESCRIPTION
This bowler hat, with its rather unusual colour, is of British origin. It was produced by Battersby & Co in London and later imported to Sweden by Norrlins, a well-known hat shop based in Västerås, central Sweden.
The colour of the hat is best described as medium brown, with a hatband in a slightly darker shade. The interior is beautifully finished with a pleated silk lining – a true work of art! The lining features the manufacturer’s logo, with the importer’s name printed beneath. Originally, the hat would have had a leather sweatband, which is unfortunately missing, having been removed at some point. It’s difficult to say exactly why, but leather bands can sometimes dry out to the point where they need replacing. The hat is still fully wearable without the band, and it would be possible to fit a new one if desired.
The overall condition is very good. The edge of the brim shows slight wear, but this is not visible when the hat is worn and can only be noticed upon close inspection. All in all, a highly unusual piece – the only flaw being the missing leather sweatband.

As the internal sweatband is missing, the current size does not perfectly reflect the original. The inner circumference now measures 56.5 cm.
