AUSTRIAN 1940S/1950S BLACK HOMBURG HAT BY HABIG. SIZE CA EU 58

DESCRIPTION

This Homburg hat was made by the Austrian hat maker Habig, one of the most important European hat manufacturers of the 20th century. It was imported to Sweden and sold by Keyson, a gentlemen’s outfitter based in Stockholm. Both the hat and the ribbon are black in colour.

The interior is lined with silk, bearing both the manufacturer’s name and the importer’s logo. It also features a brown leather sweatband.

In terms of condition, the overall impression is good. There are, however, a few small discolourations on the brim, visible on both the upper and underside. These are only noticeable upon close inspection and do not affect the overall appearance.

SIZE

The hat measures 58 cm in internal circumference along the leather band.
It can be stretched by approximately half a size using a hat stretcher if desired.
