ITALIAN 1930S/1940S GREY HOMBURG FELT HAT BY BORSALINO. SIZE EU 54

DESCRIPTION

This hat is of Italian origin and was made by the legendary hat manufacturer Borsalino, most likely sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new by the retailer Danielssons in Visby, on Gotland, Sweden’s largest island.

The hat is mid-grey in colour and features a black hatband with a light grey edge binding, slightly lighter than the felt itself. The interior is lined with champagne-coloured silk, bearing both the manufacturer’s and the importer’s logos at the crown. It has a grey leather sweatband that complements the overall colour palette of the hat. Both logos appear once again on the sweatband, this time stamped in gold.

The condition of the hat is not perfect. Upon closer inspection, there is visible wear to the edge binding, as well as some discolouration to the lining and a few minor marks here and there.
