DESCRIPTION
This hat is of German origin and was produced by Wegener, a well-known German hat manufacturer. It most likely dates from the 1950s, or possibly the early 1960s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new by a shop called Kåges in Sundbyberg, Stockholm, a store that still exists today.
The hat is brown in colour and is made from felt with a slightly longer nap than most felt hats. It features a matching hatband and edge binding. Inside, it is lined with silk—dark brown along the sides with a lighter crown lining. The base of the crown bears Wegener’s logo. It has a dark brown leather sweatband, stamped in gold lettering with both the manufacturer’s and the importer’s logos. Behind the sweatband, there is also a label with the original owner’s name and telephone number.
The condition is excellent, virtually as new, with no signs of wear. Please study the photographs carefully to form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
The inner circumference of the hat measures 57,5 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
