DESCRIPTION
This hat is of German origin and was produced by the well-known hatmaker Mayser, most likely in the late 1950s or possibly the early 1960s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new by Domus, a major department store chain that opened its first stores in the mid-1950s.
The hat is black in colour and features a matching black hatband. The brim has three rows of stitching along the edge. Inside, it is fitted with a light-coloured silk lining bearing the maker’s logo. It has a black leather sweatband stamped with both the manufacturer’s and the retailer’s names, as well as the original owner’s initials.
Overall, the condition of the hat is good. The only point to note is some minor discolouration to the lining, which is of course not visible when the hat is worn. Please study the photographs carefully to form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
The inner circumference of the hat measures 56 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
