ITALIAN 1930S/1940S BLACK HOMBURG FELT HAT BY BARBISIO. SIZE EU 55,5

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Italian origin and was produced by the legendary hatmaker Barbisio, most likely sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new by Ströms, a men’s outfitter that still exists today in Stockholm.

The hat is black in colour and features a matching black hatband and edge binding. Inside, it is lined with light-coloured silk bearing both the maker’s logo and the importer’s name. It has a light-brown leather sweatband, which is also stamped in gold lettering with both logos, as well as the original owner’s initials.

The condition is very good. The sweatband indicates very light use, and the exterior is virtually in as-new condition. Please study the photographs carefully to form your own impression of the condition.
